JOB TITLE:               Bus Aide/Monitor

LOCATION:              Humphreys County

SALARY:                   $7.98 to $11.26 per hour

WORK DAYS:           183 Days - 9 Month Employee

REPORT TO:             Director of Transportation

FLSA STATUS:          Non-Exempt               


POSITION OVERVIEW:
Perform responsible support work assisting with the transportation of pupils with transportation needs to and from school, providing help to the school bus driver; securing passengers in their seats; assisting students boarding and leaving the school bus. 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist students on and off buses.
  • Ensure that all student passengers, including those in wheelchairs and braces, are properly secured in their assigned seats or wheelchair slot.
  • Assist in controlling student behavior. Tend to the special needs and conditions of each student.
  • Learn bus routes, schedules, and pickup points.
  • Assist substitute drivers with directions.
  • Keep abreast of route and bus stop changes and student daycare arrangements.
  • Assist drivers in conducting bus evacuation drills.
  • Assist drivers in maintaining a clean bus interior.
  • Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
  • Supports the Mississippi Achievement School District Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or other comparable training or experience.
  • Other requirements as deemed necessary for specific district need(s).
  • Be able to obtain and maintain CDL Driver’s License.
